Privacy Policy for Cards Against (KBC)

The Cards Against (KBC) application (hereinafter referred to as the “Application”) is provided by PureIT Bartosz Pawlak (hereinafter referred to as the “Administrator”). This policy outlines the rules regarding the processing of information in the Cards Against web and mobile application, designed for real-time multiplayer party gaming.

2. Scope and Purpose of Data Processing
The Application is built following the Privacy by Design principle – it does not require account creation, email addresses, phone numbers, or social media logins.
- Player Nickname: The user enters an arbitrary display name visible to other players in the game room during the match. Nicknames are not linked to any real-world identity.
- Game State Data: Room code, player session ID, table state, submitted answer cards, and scores are synchronized in real time to enable multiplayer gameplay.
- Device Local Storage: The Application stores only technical preferences essential for proper interface operation (color theme, sound/haptic settings, last used nickname, and active room ID to support seamless page refreshes).
3. Cookies and Tracking
The Application does not use marketing, advertising, or tracking cookies.
All data saved in the browser’s local cache serves solely to deliver the requested service (strictly necessary category). The Application does not profile users and does not track their activity for commercial purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
To provide network infrastructure, we utilize secure cloud services:
- Google Firebase (Google Ireland Limited): Firebase Hosting and Firestore Database are used to host the web application and synchronize game state among players in real time.
- The Application does not use ad networks (e.g., Google AdMob) or behavioral analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Pixel).
5. Data Retention and Deletion
- Game Rooms: Gameplay and room data are temporary and are purged after the game concludes or players leave the room.
- Device Memory: Users can clear saved preferences at any time by clearing browser cache/site data in their browser settings.
6. Policy Changes
We reserve the right to modify this policy in connection with application updates or regulatory changes. The current version is always available on the Administrator’s website.
