Privacy Policy for Balanso App

The Balanso application (hereinafter “App”) is provided by PureIT Bartosz Pawlak (hereinafter “Administrator”). This policy describes the rules for processing information within the Balanso mobile application.

1. Data Administrator

2. Scope and Purpose of Data Processing

The App is designed following the Privacy by Design model – we minimize the collection of personal data to the absolute minimum:

User Identity: We do not require a name, phone number, or email address. Identity in the system is based on a unique, anonymous device identifier (Device ID).
Settlement Data: Trip names, participant names/nicknames, and expense amounts are stored solely to enable group expense sharing.
Receipt Photos: The App allows users to upload photos of receipts. These photos are compressed locally and stored in Firebase Storage so that other participants of the trip can access them.

3. Device Permissions

The App requests access to the following features:

Camera and Gallery: Solely to allow the user to take a photo of a receipt or select one from the phone’s memory to add to an expense. Photos are not used for any other purpose.

4. Third-Party Services

We use Google Firebase (Firestore and Storage) infrastructure for real-time data synchronization. Data is stored on secure Google servers. The App does not use analytics (Analytics), advertising (AdMob), or crash reporting (Crashlytics) modules.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Right to be Forgotten: The trip administrator can delete the entire event at any time using the “Delete this event” button in the app settings. This results in the immediate and permanent removal of all associated data from the Firebase database.
Local Data: Data stored in the phone’s memory (cache) can be removed by uninstalling the app or clearing its memory in the Android system settings.

6. Policy Changes

We reserve the right to make changes to this policy. Users will be informed of any significant changes within the App.
